I've heard of Moon Doggie over several years and decided to visit during a trip to NYC (it's not far). Their coffee is the best. Freshly roasted. The shop is quaint and full of interesting things. It's on a lovely street. The owners are one of the nicest couples I've ever met. They were funny and warm. We had two children with us and they were treated like family - catered to with appropriate drinks since they obviously don't drink coffee. Best of all, they donate time and money to worthy causes. We left with bags of wonderful coffee purchased to enjoy at home - and will be ordering online regularly.

Best coffee ever.

Employee knew nothing about coffee. If you're going to advertise yourself as a boutique experience then train your employees to provide boutique service. This is not the employees' fault, it's the owner's. No attention is paid to ambience. Atmosphere is like a highway rest stop. Smells great though. Was not able to get a straight answer on when beans were roasted or what was in the blends either out of ignorance or evasion, my bet is on ignorance. Shan't return.

Great coffee - Note that this inside Johnny's Market at 48 Westwood Ave so don't look for a sign that says Moon Doggie Coffee because you won't see anything but a sign for Johnny's Market

I've only been there once or twice and the inside was fun but I knew a person who worked there once who felt they were treated unfairly. Obviously that doesn't mean you'll necessarily have a bad experience there but just another piece of data to make your decision.
