This is by far the BEST campground I have been to in all of Michigan!! My mom has been taking me here since I was 2 years old and I am now 42 and camp here every summer with my family wi

It's an OK place to go. They are in need of a lot of upgrades/repairs. There were some issues when we got there with our room we rented in the motel. We ended up driving another 20 minutes down the road to buy an air mattress since they didn't read the notes that we needed 2 beds. I would stay again if things were updated like the bathrooms and the putt putt golf course. The swimming area is small and can get crowded but it's a nice place to swim. Majority of the campers drive golf carts around it seems like so there is a lot of people driving around. If things can get refurbished it will be a nice place like it was when it was woods and water.

My dad, his girlfriend and my 8year old sister camped here, (Friday 8/14- Monday 8/17) they rented one of the campers they rent out. The camper is absolutely beautiful, very clean and the campsite was really nice. I took my 3 and 10 year old down to visit. The slide was open until 7on Friday and Saturday, my kids had a blast! They were great with the kids coming into the store as long as a mask was used and very pleasant staffing. They don’t have a strict quiet time like some campgrounds. The kids run around with the bikes and play on the playgrounds until it gets to dark to do so without getting yelled at. Adults are able to ride golf carts and mingle with other campers at night as well. Being open at all during the Covid is hard enough. This being the FIRST year I feel they have done a very good job keeping this place open and serving the public with all the regulations in place. Things that could use some improvement or second thoughts on: ️The BIGGEST CON... only 6 people per campsite including visitors! Wow was I shocked when I was told this. Especially when my family is so big ️I was charged 20 For my kids and I To visit My family for a Few hours. The 20 only Covers 24 hours of being there. ️The slide was supposed to be open at certain times and if the girl running it didn’t want to do it she would leave. ️The place could be picked up better, especially the beach and bathrooms/showers. ️Prices for camping is kinda high and you can’t have your kids sleep in a tent outside the camper without paying for another campsite. ️The store wasn’t stocked very well and they don’t go a good job at accommodating for people who are there all week and weekend. They close early leaving us to drive to the store several times. Most of there’s are just small things especially for the first year being open. I will be looking foreword to camping next year.

RIP “Woods and Water“ .... it’s so sad what poor management can do to a place. Beware: Their website does not give clear details to the “Adventure Bound” experience. For instance, they are advertising a huge slide “now open” and this is not true. It was plenty warm this weekend and closed— the closure isn’t the problem— the misleading advertising is. This is just the short list of complaints we have for the widely advertised “new and improved” campground. The bathrooms, beach and sites were filthy. The rules enforced by the “manager” stomping around glaring at children were inconsistent. I could go on and on. With plenty of other more affordable and actual family owned and hospitable campgrounds around the area— we are sadly taking our tradition elsewhere.

What started as an honest mistake ended with the manager being very rude. We accidentally set up camp in the wrong lot (because the lots are not labeled clearly), I received a call from Pam stating we were on the wrong spot and acting like we did it deliberately. \The other party is down there waiting to park their camper\. I said are you sure as I thought we had the correct spot. I told her to please have a manager meat me there so we could figure it out. Mind you i have a 30' camper that my husband always parks for me (he doesn't camp in campgrounds, hmm). I admitted we were wrong and we were going to move. I told the manager I wasn't used to parking it but would try. She said she would find someone to help me. Then after we had moved most of the chairs and toys she tells us to hang on, she was going to check something. So we waited for her to come back and when she finally did she says she did some rearranging and got the people placed somewhere else. She also made a point to say she gave them a discount because they were being flexible and the way she said it was meant to make us feel like we were horrible people and weren't being flexible. REALLY?? We were going to tear down camp and move 2 campers over one spot but we weren't being flexible. This was an honest mistake that anyone could make but they acted like we were horrible for it. Why couldn't they have moved the people to another spot to begin with instead of publicly making us feel like the worst people to ever live? The whole thing could have/should have been handled differently. If you're considering camping here anyway make sure you park in the correct spot or be prepared to be made to feel horrible. The manager even admitted the lots are not marked very well.
