I have a love for historical buildings and was very much looking forward to their open house in July on Saturdays. The mill is a treasure and it is nice to know that Whitehall is preserving it. The miller's house, located across the street, was also included in the tour. It took my breath away - like stepping back in time!

A must see historical site. We went through the grist mill filled with history from the area. Very well informed staff. When the old house is open it is a must see. A glimpse into the life of the people who owned and worked the farm.
Built by Peter Grim in 1807, the Helfrich Springs Grist Mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Sites in 1977. The Whitehall Historical Preservation Society began preservation of this site in 1984. Several events when the mill is open include historic lectures, civil war reenactment and a community yard sale. This gem is a visit. Admission is free. The Miller's residence is across the street from the mill and is open when the mill is open. Admission is also free.
Interesting lectures and very nice people!
Beautiful building. Across the street is that awesome 1832 white farmhouse which is well maintained and makes the grist mill stand out even more.
