Here and the tunnel are the only ways in and out of Whittier. Stroll around and make some unique memories of this very unique place. Every corner, which are not many, there will be a "what" moment in your head. Enjoy it to the MAX!

There is very little to do in Whittier and their population is only a couple hundred people who all live in the same building complex. I would definitely recommend the boat cruise to the glaciers. It is a little pricey at 200 USD but worth every penny. I saw otters, seals, deer, birds, fin whales, and of course glaciers. You are fed and they even have a bar on board. The trip lasts for hours and they even bring aboard some pollution free old glacier ice to try. The best thing going if your cruise ship is going to be in port for 12 hours as they pick up new passengers and you are on a back to back cruise.

All alone and no other cruise ships. As you come through the tunnel there it is

With the goal of being a quick pass-through on a journey, it satisfied that. Not massive, a quick trip through the line and a quick pass through security, and we were on our way. Nothing complicated, we were checked in before arriving though, so that probably sped things up a bit. As usual, security is much lessened over that of an airport.

They were very efficient and getting us through the boarding process. my mother needed a wheelchair and they got one for her which helped us get to the front of the line.

You do not go here for anything more than to get on or off a crusie ship and that is a good thing as there is absolutely nothing here. Purely a comercial port. Very pretty drive to Anchorage. Typically ugly barn of a building, but who cares, you just want to get on or off the ship as fast as possible

Interesting place, access via boat or a 2 mile train/car tunnel. Only a couple hundred folks live there year round.
