Enjoyable local museum with both permanent and temporary exhibits. We particularly liked the 'Beer Wars' exhibit about the prohibition era in Wilmette, historic memorabilia about Roehmer Park, and an interactive display allowing you to watch videos about various historic items. Museum admission is free and the staff is friendly.

Attended an excellent program on the 1893 Columbian Exposition on 10/22/17. Our instructor was excellent. She was well prepared with handouts of original source materials and a delightlul model of the fair she created. The group was limited in size to facilitate discussion about the social, political, economic and cultural impact of the fair and clarifications of fact vs. myth. I hope this presenter will do more of this type of event in the future.
Amazing staff and museum!
Neat historical building. The staff are super friendly and dedicated. The jail cell in the basement was fun to pretend with.
A hidden gem - at least for those of us not from Wilmette. Wonderful exhibits clearly displayed inside the lovely former Gross Point town hall.
