I've taken the salsa group lesson for a year (since last October). I didn't dance before then, but now I'm preparing the showcase and will have performance next month! This is the best place to learn social dancing for any age and any level. :D

What a special place! I was brand new to ballroom dance and this studio made me feel comfortable right away! Any level can excel here from novice to professional! The teachers are all amazing and the owners will welcome you in as a part of their family! Ballroom Dance will forever be a part of me now!

I've been coming to this studio for 11 months now (since Dec 2018). However, it feels that I have been here way longer. Initially what brought me to the studio was the instructors' prolific dance experience, and the large and well-maintained studio rooms. I had taken a few Latin classes before I came here and was looking for a studio that provided systematic education on Latin dance. I remember the first group class (Latin Drills) I took with Ching totally blew my mind. There was so much stuff I learned from that one class than all the previous classes combined. So I stayed and started coming to the studio more often, then started taking private lessons with Andre in January this year. I had doubts about taking private lessons at the beginning because I wasn't sure if I wanted to compete. However, looking back to the dance videos I recorded a year ago I'm so grateful for what he has taught me and the heart and soul he has put into each lesson. I've done 3 mock comps so far and each time I saw some improvements. I don't think I'd be able to see results that fast if I didn't take these lessons that were customized for my growth. I also have to mention the atmosphere in this studio. The other staff members and instructors (big shout out to Brad) are so welcoming and friendly. The fellow students are all really nice and humble. I felt welcomed from day 1 and have made some good friends here with whom I share the same interests and passion in dancing. I'd recommend Firebeat to anyone I know who's interested in ballroom dancing.

I've been dancing for 1.5 years at Firebeat. My prior dancing experience is zero so my perspective is that of a complete beginner. Firebeat matches what I'm looking for: focus on solid techniques and different dance styles including social dancing. The instructors have a lot of experience, won several titles/competitions, and are very receptive to questions. The studio is focused on training dancers to compete and bring home the gold. Their students' dedication and the schedule of classes reflect that. Initially I only wanted to learn just enough to dance at formal and social occasions. The instructors understood my intent and tailored my curriculum to that desire so that we achieve it in the shortest time possible. Roughly a few months in, I had a change of heart. I went from taking group classes and a few private lessons here and there to fully immersing myself in American Rhythm dances. This is due to the realization that most people do not know how to dance. Their dancing is just doing their own thing. Social dancing gets boring real fast when you can only use 5 or so moves on beginners! People are easily impressed with just being twirled and spun around a lot at a fast pace. The instructors also confirmed this issue: they can't go all out with a beginner. Their goal with a beginner as a dance partner is to have both parties enjoy the dance. My suggestion to people reading this review is to not stand still and ask yourself where you want to be a year from now. My instructor Ching told me it would take 3 years to become the best dancer at any social club vs 7 years to become a competitive dancer at the highest level. It's been 1.5 years, and I successfully completed my first mock competition at Firebeat. I'm very grateful to have met such great instructors and students on my dancing journey.

I have been at Firebeat Ballroom Studios for over 4 years and I'm still just as in love with this studio as the day I walked in for the first time. Ching and Andre are truly the heart and soul of the studio. They always teach each lesson with so much excitement and they are devoted to each students progress. The front desk staff is always friendly and welcoming. I take weekly lessons with Brad. He makes learning fun and always knows how to inspire his students. His passion for dance shines through in each lesson he teaches. If you're looking for a studio that treats you like family then this is the studio for you. They really care about your journey and they encourage and support you every step of the way. Whether you are looking to learn a wedding dance that you will treasure forever or are looking to take a social group class or would like to be part of a ballroom competitive team I guarantee you will find what you are looking at Firebeat Ballroom Studios.
