I had a great experience renting a kayak from here. Both of the guys who helped us out were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I got a tandem kayak and they gave me a free dry bag which was definitely needed. The price was great for a full day experience and the pickup process was easy. Don’t worry if you don’t have a roof rack, they’ll hook you up with gear to get the kayak on your car and strap it down. Super awesome experience and I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to kayak on the Windward side. The customer service, products, pricing and process were all great, thanks Windward WaterSports! I’ll be back for sure.

One of the most flexible and laidback rentals I’ve experienced, highly recommended! We rented the kayak online for the next day trip to chinaman’s hat, and they were able to accommodate us. The standard tandem kayak package comes with seats, life jackets and paddles, and we rented a dry bag on top of that. Staff was super helpful. He helped us load and unload the kayak on site and instructed us on the correct way to do it ourselves when we were out. He also gave us detailed information about where to park and what to look out for on the island. We had a lot of fun, thanks for the great service!
Rented 5 kayaks from these guys. They loaded them on our cars. Gave great instructions on how to use them and where to go. Had life jackets for all of us.
I was lucky to be on Oahu when the wind was good, and Jeff was able to fit me in for a pretty last minute lesson. Online booking was easy, but I had stopped by the shop and would recommend you call because not all the time slots are accurate because of covid. Jeff called me within a few hours and asked me good questions about my ability and experience so he could customize the lesson. He struck me as very experienced at teaching kiters at a variety of levels. The beach spot seemed crowded and busy but the bay is enormous and beautiful. Jeff did a great job making everything really low stress despite the crowds, and the helmet mic he has was the best communication setup on the water I have experienced. I could actually hear him really well out there as he gave me great tips to help improve my riding. Once out on the water, there is so much space that any crowds were no big deal at all. I had my kiteboarding ah-ha moment and was able to stay upwind pretty well by the end of the day. If you are on Oahu and there is good wind, definitely get in touch with Jeff. You simply won’t regret it.
Windward Watersports had such an amazing 24 hour deal for a 2 person kayak. They also gave us car straps, car protectors, dry bags, and a paddleboard leash for our friend who was joining us. They were super accommodating, and gave us recommendations and information on tides that day. It was a super quick and easy process. While i was in there i saw there pricing for other activies and i am excited to go back and use their equipment.
They were amazing, super nice and helpful!! We were originally booked for a day that turned out to have terrible weather (super windy and a big rain storm). They checked the weather for us and changed our reservation for the best weather day during our trip, and then gave us some ideas on what we could still do that day around there. When we went back to actually kayak, they were very helpful with giving us the best itinerary for our time, provided detailed directions for driving and where to park, where to kayak, and where to snorkel. They provide free roof racks for the kayaks, and help get them up and down which was very helpful. All in all, they were very pleasant to work with and we highly recommend them to anybody wanting to rent outdoor equipment in Kailua.
Great experience renting kayaks here! The employees at the shop were super great at explaining good routes to take on the ocean, how to properly use and take care of the gear, and what to expect. They talked us through every detail! Better rate than elsewhere in town. Don't worry that it's a mile from the beach - they have straps and pads you can use. People take boats on sedans just fine.
