Not a bad place to camp for a night. Water & Electric hookups for 17/night plus a common dump station. Tons of spaces to choose from (grass & paved). But as a heads up, there is a train that goes by often, like every 20-30 minutes throughout the day and into the night. And there's an intersection right next to the camping area, so the train blares the horn multiple times. If you're a light sleeper or bothered by loud, abrupt noises, it's definitely something to consider.

Great. Easy place to camp when you want to get away.
The Fairgrounds are a much better place when it's full of activities and people. Thanks to Covid 19, that's a thing of the past.
Wonderful place to camp anytime!! Will miss the Bluegrass Festival this year but look forward to next year!!
The fairgrounds: fun during the Cowley County Fair, sure, but a lot more goes on down there. Winfield is famous for our Walnut Valley Festival known, as the \blue grass festival\ to locals. That happens in Sept. In October we have a terrifying haunted house in one of the barns. In August Habitat for Humanity has a big one day sale/fundraiser. Throughout the year you might find flea markets and auctions. Be sure to drive by the horse barn and the beautiful clydesdales if they are outside.
