Good for kids
Loved it!! The forest was donated by my great grandma, Helen Binney Kitchel. The State of CT wanted to name it after her, but she was too modest, insisting they name it after the Algonquin Native Americans , the 1st inhabitants.

There are no signs at the trail head. We saw what looked like a trail so we just parked on the side of the road. No map, but once we identified two white blazes we just followed them on a rather steep climb.

I live with state forest for my back yard . Many species of birds here . Incredible wildlife from flying sqirrels to big bears.
Peaceful and quiet.
Great place to let the dogs run this time of year.
