This is a beautiful, spring fed and mountain brook fed lake with two small beaches and a public boat ramp. There is also a full service marina with a gas dock and watercraft rental. Nestled in the Litchfield Hills the lake has three interconnected bays surrounded by forested peaks. This is a must see when the leaves turn.

Beautiful lake, mostly privately owned. There are two public beaches, Resha and Holland. Parking at each is by parking pass only and is becoming strictly enforced. There is also a public boat launch.
The Old State Beach, part of the former Taylor Brook Campgrounds, is a great little place to hang out and enjoy a day by the lake. There is a sweet trail that runs along the lakefront, and heads South to Burr pond! The trail takes about an hour and a half to walk and includes a fairly Steep Hill. It is Well blazed and easy to follow. I like to start at Burr Pond walk through the old Taylor Brook Campground down to Highland Lake and Wade in the Sandy Waters.
Awsome great lake .meant new friends great day
Excellent! Very quiet. Relaxing and calm atmosphere minus the occasional speeder on the road going around the lake. Amazing must see place.
