To prepare for a (self-made) triathlon in July, I called the shop and was fortunate to talk with Alex. While I could hear what sounded like a busy shop in the background, he patiently and enthusiastically took time to listen to my plans and make great recommends for trails and roads in the local Methow area. Having well informed staff with local area expertise has made my preparations super easy and given me comfort knowing where I will go for gear and maps before hitting the back country. This has been my favorite Winthrop ski shop for years. I was a little concerned when I heard that Brian and Amy sold it last year but the new owners Chas and Carlin are awesome too. Top drawer customer service and great gear.

Super helpful and attentive staff to help everyone find their perfect pair of nordic skis. Ben was incredibly helpful in helping me buy my first pair of skate skis, which I have absolutely loved! He set me up to demo two different pairs of skis and poles after a lot of deliberation, and then he was super patient as I went back and forth deciding between two pairs for way too long. Everyone else at the shop was as helpful as could be and they waxed my new skis right there - I walked out minutes later with them! All staff was also really good about wearing their masks properly. Can't recommend this spot enough! Thanks Ben!

Very nice, friendly staff. Great quality rental equipment for XC skiing: they rent the same gear as they are selling, so not the average worn-out rentals. I'd definitely come here again.
