Have done this trip many times. The captain makes all the difference in the enjoyment of the trip. He gives the history of the lake and its islands, the famous people who live on the lake shore as the boat passes by, and in general sets the tone of the trip. In all the years I've taken this ride, I have only had three captains who don't give accurate or any information.

Went from Sanbornton to Wolfboro to go on the boat. Got there 20 minutes before departure, only to find out that it was not sailing that day. Wasted time driving, using gas etc. Not happy.

Don't believe them! This morning was a bit rainy and we had people coming from another state to visit. They wanted to view Lake Winnipesaukee so we decided on the Winni Belle. We had taken this ship a few times with other visitors and it usually was fine. !.5 hours is enough for anyone. This time because of the rain we called ahead to see if the ship was going to go out in the weather. We were told that it goes out rain or shine and the person I spoke to suggested we could easily make the 1:30 PM departure. We drove to Wolfeboro through the normal amount of traffic and had to park far away but all was well and we made it to the boat on time. Unfortunately when we got there the guy standing on the landing platform informed us that the boat was reserved for a private party. Disappointed I told him that the boat office should get their act together because we were encouraged to make the 1:30 departure. He just rudely said \I don't have anything to do with that\ He didn't say sorry for the mix up or sorry about anything he just disclaimed all responsibility and dismissed us. He looked bothered to even there. I wasn't upset until encountered that guy. I can't believe that someone as ill mannered would be part of their organization. My advice to anyone expecting to take the ship on a lake cruise not have high hopes because obviously the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing with the Winni Belle.

Sadly disappointed. Burned twice! Out-town-guests this past weekend never got to experience this boat. On-line departure for the boat was changed on Friday without anyone ‘s knowledge so when we arrived at the pier the boat was long gone. Called the Wolfeboro Inn that evening to get correct time for Saturday’s departure. Was told by a man that it would be leaving at noon. When we arrived at 11:45 no boat in sight. Went directly to the Wolfeboro Inn and was told the boat was out on a charter. After speaking with a woman at the desk all she could say was how sorry she was. In turn we were sorry too, as well as embarrassed and sad that our two-days vacation with our friends was such a disappointment. When mentioning to others in our Wolfeboro neighborhood they were surprised we weren’t offered some reimbursement.
