The knife is beautiful! Monster of a blade, and almost 1/2" thick at spine... Only drawback, it is possibly too sharp! Definitely easy to cut anything the edge touches. Quality made, that will last my lifetime. Excellent AAA!

I bought custom filet knife from this craftsman nearly 10 years ago and its been a prized possession. Fantastic steel, a beautiful cocobolo wood handle (which stands up to water and regular use) and quality buffalo hide sheath and storage pouch have it as good as new. The steel is so much stronger in terms of its backbone when working larger rib bones on a 2-3lb size fish and yet maintains fantastic flex for the fine work. I'm buying another today as a gift. Highly recommend Jay Maines' work.
