Great campground in boat in camping area. Fishing was great even in the heat of summer (large mouth, channel cats, blue cats, smallmouth). Clean water and very awesome rock feature with somewhat technical climb to the top about 20 feet jump to water.

Kentucky State Parks have decided to charge a 6 egistration fee\ regardless if you reserve a site or walk up. Nice park. Level sites. Dual dump station. Very friendly and helpful host. But we won't be staying at Kentucky State Parks again. It appears someone in Kentucky has decided to be on the side of Reserve America instead of the traveling camper. I won't enable that kind of behavior. I'll patronize the private campgrounds instead.

Stay in blain creek so you have a private spot. Laundry rooms and bath house are extremely clean. Then you have bathrooms at both ends and a dumpster and dump site. All of the blain creek spots have water and electric. Im in 14 right now but prefer numbers 5 and 2 for the space and privacy. Number 1 is huge and so is number 15. But they are hard to find open. You have hiking trails all over the place that are marked and named that will take you to the boat in spots so you will have lake access. Also you can go to the exit Lawrence county park - follow the one lane road all the way up to a park, then go down and you will see a kayak rental place with paddle boats and a sandy beach. Kayaks are 15, for the entire day! Life jackets included. I highly recommend this place compared to others in our area it was 54 to book online for 3 days and 2 nights after taxes and fees.
