Sylvan York is fantastic. They are close by and easy for us to go drop our son at for tutoring and head home until he is finished. The staff there is eager to teach our son and engages with him outside of just teaching him. They ask about his day and home life and during this time of isolation that means so much to him. Could not ask for better support for our son.

My son has been going to Sylvan for about a month now, and we began seeing positive results almost right away. He is in first grade, and has ADHD and very low self-confidence when it comes to reading. Just today, his teacher emailed me to tell me that he passed his first sight word test, which entailed identifying 40 words correctly. That's huge for him! I definitely credit Sylvan for the increase in his confidence. Instead of asking us what a sign says as we drive down the road, he is now attempting to figure out the words on his own. It's great! The staff at the York Sylvan location are all very friendly and upbeat--it's a great environment! It is correct to say that tutoring at Sylvan is not cheap, but after just one month, we are MORE than happy to be making the investment. I can't wait to see how my son is doing at the end of the school year.

My daughter started 9th grade in public school in September and struggled with math because she was in alternate ED for a few years. After attending Sylvan she improved her Math Grade after only 2 months. She continues to go there for homework support, math and assistance with creative writing skills. We are very Pleased, she goes twice a week for 2 hours each visit, never complains or does not want to go.
