***Editing my previous review- Dave called and said they found a box of my meat when cleaning out their freezer- there was at least an additional 20pounds if steaks in it. I really appreciated that they contacted me and made it right. Definitely a much better experience!*** I am so sorry to write a negative review for any business but I did want to provide honest feedback and make sure other hunters don’t have a similar experience. We used to use Millers in Plainfield but since they’ve closed we decided to try Dave’s. I had a doe processed at Dave’s last year into mostly sticks and they were fantastic so I didn’t have any hesitation about bringing my 2 deer (a mature doe and a buck) this year. I had them do everything; steaks, ground, and sticks. Unfortunately the amount of meat I got back wasn’t what I was expecting. In previous years we typically yielded significantly more meat from similarly sized deer. In addition, meat was packaged in straight paper rather than with any type of cellophane or plastic layer and it wasn’t well labeled (usually back straps or loins are called out). I suggest if you’re like us and you like to eat your hard earned venison all year, try another processor. I still love their sticks but am very disappointed after a 500 bill. Won’t go back next year :(
