I love Sammy's. They are always friendly and have good service. The chicken parmesan is so good! And they give you a hefty portion. I would also recommend the Atchaflalya Fish.

Food was delicious. No wait time. Easy to find location. Our server Amanda was awesome. Very friendly. Laid back atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Delicious crawfish during the evening hours. Will be returning soon. If you are looking for home cooked country style food then this is the place

First off arrived at restaurant and your liquor license had expired. We heard the food was really good so we stayed and ordered. The waitress was slow. Forgot our salads. Never refilled our water or tea. The food was actually very good. Kudos to the kitchen. As we were finally enjoying our food we noticed there were people drinking beer. After we were told no liquor. It seemed as though certain tables were able to get beer... What the heck.!!! Sammy’s. I would have given no stars... but the one star was for the food!

Let me start by saying I no longer live in the area but love coming to Sammy’s (usually Zachary) whenever my family is back in the area. It is Thanksgiving Eve so I was concerned they’d be packed because all of the experiences I’ve had with Sammy’s have been phenomenal up until tonight. I was pleased to find they were not at all busy. Our family of 6 and a baby were quickly sat but that was the only quick thing that happened. We waited way too long to even order our drinks and an embarrassingly long time to receive them. At one point, when one of our drinks were seemingly forgotten by our server, I went to the bar to pick up the drink (that was waiting to be picked up by the server) myself. We had to ask for updates on our order where our server proceeded to meander (and I do not use this word lightly) about the restaurant with no real direction or tenacity. I have worked in the service industry for over 15 years so I try to give the benefit of the doubt especially given the holiday, but this server should not have been on the floor by himself. I plan to speak to the manager as we have currently been here for an hour and half in a nearly empty restaurant with no food yet. I’m sad to say Sammy’s may not remain on our list of must eat places when we’re back in southern Louisiana. Update: manager helped very little. Update 2: our meal was comped 1/2 off and we were offered desserts. Sammy’s, you can do so much better than what happened tonight.

Oh my, this place is amazing. We started with the fried eggplant, then the seafood gumbo. My uncle, who is very critical about his gumbo, ordered a whole bowl and some to go. I got the scalloped seafood dish...it was great. I was so full, I wish I could have ordered more to take home. This is the best place in the area for seafood.
