We also work with the business community to help them solve problems, develop products and services, and improve process. The Idea Lab is led by Inaugural Director Kevin Popovic and supported by a team of student interns and faculty. The facility is located in the Engineering & Interdisciplinary Services (EIS) building in room 103D and is open during normal business hours. About the Zahn Innovation Platform Idea Lab is funded by a generous grant from the Moxie Foundation. With this gift San Diego State University has developed the Zahn Innovation Platform (ZIP), a campus-wide hub for collaboration across disciplines, the exploration of new ideas and the launch of new ventures. ZIP facilitates problem-solving and inspire students, faculty and staff to pursue their creative ideas. The ZIP Idea Lab expands the commercial and social innovation and entrepreneurship resources at SDSU which include the ZIP Launchpad (established in 2012 as the Zahn Innovation Center) and Lavin Entrepreneurship Center.
