Took some bravery to go in as the parking lot full of rusted signage and front of buildings which once sought that old western look now just screams run down. See picture. First time and probably only time visiting. The zoo does offer a lot of animals and lots of interaction with them. I enjoyed both the walk around and the drive through. However it does need to be noted that the smell was extremely horrendous and powerful in parts of the park. There was also a water exhibit (picture) that completely lacked care. Thankfully none of the animals here looked malnourished but some may just be lacking in cage space (giraffes and camels). It cost 15 per adult, 13 for senior and 11 for kids older than 2. Overall, I went for the animals and that's what I enjoyed. Had to look past some of the machines, fair rides, and tons of mud laying around. And yeah they had a sign up that said NC governor mandates masks which was a rather passive aggressive way of going about it because none of their staff wore masks (not even store staff) and definitely didn't enforce customers to wear them, but outside you can socially distance.

I wasn't quite sure what to write about this place. The animals were amazing and beautiful, and it was really cool to see them up close. With that said, I don't think whoever owns this place knows anything about animals, their needs, or their habitat requirements. I really doubt there are any scientists or zoologists working here. Some of the animals' \homes\ were made out of some sort of cheap wood and definitely not constructed well. The animals appeared depressed and some seemed very cold as there was nowhere for them to warm up. The space was limited for these large beauties. It was heartbreaking to see where they house the giraffes. I've never seen Tiger King but wouldn't be surprised if this establishment or it's owners made a guest appearance from what I've heard. This place might seem cool, but your dollars are better spent at a place that takes care of the animals and doesn't leave sharp axes all over the grounds (fun for kids).
Great place! The light show was amazing. My whole family enjoyed the animals. The staff was super friendly. We went to the light show at Charlotte Motor Speedway last weekend, but the Zootastic lights were so much better. This might be our new yearly tradition!!
Okay so we went last night for the light show. We arrived around 730/745ish. I was completely unaware they closed at 9 on weeknights. One of the staff members RUDELY told us to leave. I was pretty upset at this point considering I already spent 70 plus dollars there. So for the ones that don't know, get there early (they open at 6). It was a total error on my part for not checking times. My kids were bummed they didn't get to feed the tigers or do any rides. However, my review is based on the staffs attitude. The Santa they had was PHENOMENAL. He so kind and caring. If I could rate him differently I would. He deserves 5 plus stars. As far as the lights and animals... the lights were beautiful. Pretty spread out, same as other years. The animals looked healthy and cared for well. There was a lot of rats in the barn though. Wish I would have known when I pulled in and paid they were closing soon and I would have not been so leisurely so we could have done more. Overall, look up times before you go. Then maybe the staff won't be rude and disrespectful to. That ruined it all for me. Also, love the support our troops sign... you should offer military discounts...
We had a zootastic time! It is hard to believe that a privately owned and unassuming entrance would lead to a wonderful adventure of amazing animals that you would see at more \commercial\ zoos. In addition to being able to let my son feed a lion, giraffe, zebra, and many more animals, there were carnival rides, playgrounds, and a train in which I got to see the excitement of my son's face. We spent hours and I don't believe that my family was able to see everything there was to offer. I was happily surprised at the cost of entry, feeding, and the rides. The admission also allowed for a drive through which we took after waking the grounds for hours in amazement of the beautiful animals that were well kept. I was expecting a short drive with a few animals but I was surprised again. Our car trip took nearly an hour as we stopped to feed zebras, deer, goats, and many other animals. Even on the drive we saw lions, tigers, buffalo, and the other aforementioned animals. We went during winter and it was very cold but it did not hinder our fun. My family and I will definitely visit many more times in all seasons. With my first encounter being during the winter with the foliage gone, I can't wait to see how beautiful Zootastic Park is in the spring season. The entire day of fun for four people cost less that 100. That included admission, the Zootastic drive, allowing my son feed the lion three times, four feedings for the giraffe, and countless feedings of the other animals. I saw that they also offer annual passes which I intend to get for my family on our next visit. If you have children or not, this place is definitely worth every penny and every minute spent.
