While the river itself was great, this is not what I would call a service establishment. We bring our own tubes and pay them for a ride. They have 100 or more tubes - but when we asked if they had a repair kit we could purchase when one of ours turned out to have a small hole - they said no. We ended up having to rent 2 tubes from them for an extra 20 as a result. Sorry but owning that many tubes they have something to repair them. I found it offensive that they lacked to initiative to provide good customer service to some regular customers. Next time we will work not to give them ANY money as a result. Public river and both landings they use are public. Again - I had no problem with paying 10 per person for giving us a 3 mile ride - but not helping us out when we were perfectly willing to buy something to repair our tube - very POOR customer service. Not that the employees looked like they would even know what that meant - necessarily. TIP: you can buy tubes off Amazon for the price they rent one. If you are looking to save some money - pay for one person to ride back with them - especially if you have a large party - then drive to the pickup landing yourself on the public road and pick up the rest of your group. Sorry Zumbro Rentals - you should know customer service ALWAYS pays - and lack there of never has good results - even if it doesn't always have negative ones. Running a business is simple - treat people right and don't be greedy - I hope this post results in giving others the idea to cut down on what they pay you - because that is what you deserve...
Had a lovely day floating down the river with a convenient shuttle ride back! Heads up though, it is CASH ONLY!
Very friendly, we had 40 people and all got great service. Good canoes, some with built in backrests! Tip-A-Canoe troop!
