I have been here a few times to shoot bands and shows so far. I have never had a bad experience at this venue. Get there early for headliner bands as the parking spaces are severely limited. That is my only complaint. Food is very good at this venue. Little lights are sent back to your table that blinks rapidly when your order is ready, perfect during a show! The lighting is always good, the sound is always on point and the staff is always friendly. I recommend this venue to all the fans wanting to watch a show up close and personal. Plenty of seating is provided for most shows in this venues and there are multiple rooms to wander through as well. The outside patio area is basic and on most nights a warm heater is provided for smokers outside. No seating is available outside that I could see when I was there. It is perfect though for the cigarette break for certain. I will definitely be delighted to return to this venue for a show anytime.

It's a great, intimate place! I seen COLD here, and the 4 ish bands playing before Cold, were great also! I love 4 hours away, but it was so worth it
I love being able to be so close to the stage. I absolutely love attending concerts at a smaller venue like this. The bands are so accessible and it makes for a much more intimate experience. Some things they can improve on: they need someone directing traffic for parking. It's a mess! Secondly - AIR!!!!! It's freaking HOT in there! The ceiling fans are useless. I saw a couple larger commercial type fans hanging from the ceiling, but they weren't even plugged in. The sound was great - it nearly melted my face off! The base was intense - i love feeling the hairs dance around on my arms! I will continue attending events here. I just really hope the fix the a/c. It's miserable. Fix that, and i will upgrade to a perfect 5.
I enjoyed the show. The food & mixed drinks were good. I loved the outdoor space! This place has a great layout for small concerts.
One of my fave venues in KC, the Aftershock is a small, intimate place where you can go and see some big names in metal for a small price and you don't need an exorbitant VIP pass to meet the bands. They are right there, in your face...literally. The only reason for 4, and not 5, stars is because it was hot as balls in that joint last night...MORE (AIR)FANS PLEASE!?
Go here. Get your face melted by bands. Eat amazing food. Drink delicious drinks. Party with some of the coolest people in the area.
We went here to support a local band and I wasn't impressed at all. The worst part is the sound work for the performances. The vocals were 100% washed out and the levels of other instruments were deafening. The sound operator needs to have their hearing checked. We even told him that we couldn't hear the singer at all, but it didn't help. Otherwise, the place is ok. Mediocre drinks and service, fairly clean.
This venue is great for many reasons but it has its downsides as well. I really love how intimate the space is, you can get really close to the band and it is an overall great experience for a small venue. The only complaints I have is the fact it is cash only, there is no re-entry if you step out, there is limited seating, and it is VERY hot during the summer. And lastly my biggest complaint is the electrical issues they are consistently having, both times I went to see one of my favorite bands play they had electrical issues (at this venue).
