I contacted a step in time to conduct a chimney cleaning and inspection. The tech was very professional and answered all of my questions. My fireplace was NOT completely cleaned. I opened the firebox and found TONS of build up left behind. The company I decided to hire for the repairs was able to clean out another full trash bag of gunk from my fireplace. This is unacceptable. Don't tell me something is cleaned when I can see for myself it is not. Their quote was the highest of the 3 I received by thousands of dollars. They are not chimney pro's, they are salesman. Do not hire this company!

Simply Amazing....... I looked online for a Chimney Sweep for weeks and I finally found a great service in \A Step In Time\. I previously hired a company that took my money and apparently knew nothing about the structure of a chimney. Two weeks prior to completing my work Mike Shipe from \A Step in Time\ came out to my home and preformed a thorough inspection. He was not only on time, but prior to his arrival he contacted me to advise his location and when he would arrive. Mike advised me that my chimney had a previous fire in the flu and told me all the work that needed to be done to keep me an my family safe this winter. He scheduled the work to be done in about two weeks. Dave arrived with his son, on time, and immediately got to work. They were courteous and pleasant. Dave made sure I was aware of what he was doing and showed me the problems before fixing them. They installed a damper and made sure, before they left, that I was trained in using it. I give this company an A and will always use them. Thank you very much.
Spoke with Laura in Md location who spoke fast cutting me off and telling me they are booked until end of this month. When she found out I would be a new customer then she wanted me to explain what service I needed. I kindly told her never mind they couldn't help me.
I called two weeks ago and spoke with Paul who said they didn't have appointments available until the end of the month. Then he said he would call me beck the week of Thanksgiving to let me know if any cancellations had happened or if one of the techs could squeeze me in. When I did't receive a call by Saturday after Thanksgiving I called him and he scheduled me for Monday (today) from 1-3. I took time off of work to accommodate the appointment and then received a call from Paul at 2 stating that the office forgot to call me that morning to cancel and reschedule due to rain. When I expressed my frustration at the all around poor communication from him and this company he told me \obviously you are dis-satisfied with our service so you should just find someone else to take care of this for you\ and he hung up on me... Why are the Christian organizations the ones with the worst service? Will never use this company. Would give 0 stars if I could.
