My husband was there four years ago and it was great . Then he had to go back a year later and his care was terrible .the staff didn't care only there for the pay check.it was like a different place all together. I will never have him go back . Their pT department was good but the rest was just terrible. ️️

Very respectful people. They are understanding of your concerns and will help you with whatever you need when asked.

The phone rings and rings but no one answers. I feel frustrated and powerless as I sit in my living room over a hundred miles away wondering if my mother is safe. She called earlier to let me know that after pressing the nurse button no one has come to help her use the bathroom. That was over an hour ago now and I don’t know if she has gotten help. Unfortunately, this is not unusual. Finally my patience is rewarded, a staff member in long term care picks up. Her response is curt and hurried as if she is in a bad mood and wants to get me off the phone. As she assures me that she will go check on my mother and I wonder if I have said or done something to upset her. I understand that taking care of the elderly is a hard job and that they are probably good people but this doesn’t seem right. I put my mother in Altenheim about two months ago and now I’m wondering if that was a terrible mistake on my part. Mom calls often to let me know that she needs help. She knows to press the nurse button but no one comes. This usually happens after hours and when I try to call it is very difficult to get a staff member to pick up the phone. Due to COVID restrictions I have not been able to spend much time inside of the building so I do not have a sense of what may be happening in the facility. When my mother was transferred to the hospital she was so much happier! We noticed an immediate change in her mood, outlook and overall mental state. I would encourage anyone considering Altenheim to do as much research as possible before making a decision.

I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone for their loved ones! Our entire experience was awful. The staff would not notify us of any changes in my Mother's condition at all. We would call and ask questions and we would always get the run around. They didn't tell us the results of some tests, nor did they notify us of moving her from room to room. I found out when I called and spoke to another patient that was now in my mom's old room. She had a doctor's appointment that we wasn't aware of and once again... no one notified us about any of this. Our overall experience with this facility was just absolutely terrible. I would look into another facility for your loved ones before even considering this one.

Awful staff, extremely unprofessional. We are in the process of reporting and pressing charges. Staff members stole medications from my mother. There is documentation to support this and evidence of elderly abuse for multiple patients. As reported in previous comments, the staff would ignore request and intentionally withhold care. I’m warning whoever reads this, please do not send your loved one to this facility as you will be putting them at risk. This is the worst facility in the Midwest by far.
