I bought a new car from Groove Toyota. I had no insurance, so sales suggested that I use the insurance agency "Americus Insurance". I asked "Americus Insurance" to find the minimum basic insurance for me. For just 200, "Americus Insurance" found the "best" insurance for me, which cost 1804.50 for six months. It took another 1.5-2 hours of waiting at the dealer. The next day, it took me less than 1 hour to find the same coverage for just 882.93.

If I could give this company no stars I would. They are slow to pay claims, unprofessional and make dealing with someone who has passed even harder than it should be. I was amazed at the lack of customer service. We sent paper work all in one envelope and they told us they didn’t get one peice. It was just out and our lies to keep from paying any faster than necessary. It was t even that much money. It was ridiculous. If I owned this company I’d be rethinking those in charge of claims. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Company is an absolute ripoff. I rarely post reviews, but was so unhappy about this experience. I fell into the trap of going through the broker that my car dealership recommended after purchasing a car. Americus charges you 200 as a broker fee, and got me a rate of 210/month with Kemper as the best insurance they could find. This 200 fee was not clearly explained during the process - it came off as a 200 fee that the insurance company charges as an initiation fee. I gave a quick call to a number of insurance companies the next day and got new insurance (within 20 mins of calling) with better coverage that what Americus found for 100/month from a few companies. Americus also charges a 75 cancellation fee if you decide to cancel within 3 months, so all in all, 275 was lost down the drain (excluding what I paid for 1st months premium for Kemper) for finding insurance that was over double the price. I tried asking them to waive the 75 fee and was told that managers would be calling me back. Instead, got a very rude phone call back from Kyle Hunter (my insurance agent at Americus) about requesting to waive the cancellation fee. To be completely fair to Kyle, he was very nice and patient looking for options for me at first, but that tone took a quick turn once I cancelled and requested that the 75 cancellation fee be waived. Do your research before hand and avoid the fees from Americus if possible. You'll save yourself a lot of money.
