This was such a fun day! Chilly dogs is a fantastic organization and the dogs are happy and healthy. We got to meet the dogs beforehand and it was apparent right away that the handlers knew each dog intimately. Their passion and care for these dogs was incredible. The dogs are SO excited to run and you can tell they are very happy athletes. This group is mostly retired racing dogs. Cannot recommend chilly dogs enough and will definitely be back if we are ever in MN again.

INCREDIBLE experience. This is our third time with Chilly Dogs in Ely and it never gets old. Jess, Jake, Donna and the rest of the crew take such good care of you. This family-owned business is top-notch and make winter visits to Ely that much more memorable. I've taken my kids ages 9-16 (16-year-old got to drive the sled this year!) And it's always a blast, educational and a beautiful and fun way to explore the Ely's north woods. Highly recommend!
Amazing experience This was an amazing time! The dogs are the stars of the show for sure. The owners are knowledgeable, friendly, make the whole process easy from start to finish, and best of all, take amazing care of the dogs! Their love for the dogs and the well-being of the dogs is evident from the moment you arrive. I did the snowy owl trip. Well worth it. If you’ve ever wanted to try dog sledding, go to chilly dogs!
Yesterday, my husband, father-in-law and I went dog sledding with Chilly Dogs - such a great experience! The family is welcoming, kind, and genuinely wants everyone to enjoy the trip & experience. I love that we got to meet & pet the dogs before orientation and the actual trip - they LOVE to meet people, it was so great. I really enjoyed the hearing the background on the dogs, and info about racing, and every other little tid bit of info shared with us. The views on the actual sled route were beautiful, and even if you're not a huge fan of winter weather, you will enjoy the vibe and views. Highly recommend Chilly Dogs - big thank you to Jake, Jess, Donna, Jeff, and all of the other guides & dogs!
My daughter and I had a great experience with the amazing staff and dogs at Chilly Dogs!! We felt well cared for, prepared and confident when it was our turn to mush the sled. I’m 62 and found it enjoyable and well within my capabilities! Much love to the friendly loving dogs and staff at Chilly Dogs!!
What a great experience! I was worried I’d be freezing in 1 degree weather (-17 with wind chill), but I wasn’t. They have inexpensive gear to rent. I brought as much cold weather stuff as I had, and they can help supplement. Great information, great ride, so cool to walk through and pet all the dogs. I would totally do it again. Highly recommended!
Amazing dog sledding at Chilly Dogs, Ely MN. Total novices but had a fantastic lesson before the run. Time to get to know the dogs was so much fun as well. The actual dog sledding was simply exhilarating! Can't say enough for the staff. You won't be disappointed if you visit Chilly Dogs!
We could not have asked for a more memorable experience. Everyone we interacted with was kind, extremely knowledgeable and loved each dog’s uniqueness. Our children (3 and 7) enjoyed every minute, as did we. To see the sled dogs in their environment doing what they love fills your heart.
