Unfortunately very disappointed with the food quality. Was very excited to see this restaurant. I’ve tried many Central Asian places and Farida is far behind many of them. I’d love to come back if they fixed couple things: 1) meat quality (we didn’t eat most of what we ordered and I took it home. My dog didn’t eat their meat either) 2) samsa isn’t crispy and flavorful. Maybe change the bakery or recipe. 3) service needs a bit help. They sat us at the door table and every time they take their menus from windowsill - they would kinda touch my GFs head with them. Was irritating. Overall prices are higher than Brooklyn or Queens but surely it’s Manhattan. I wish they could improve their services and food quality and it would truly be the best one in NYC. Location is great but I would rather go to Brooklyn spending an extra hour and having great meal than supporting a business who don’t want to hear their customers

Farida offers what's rare in NYC - Central Asian cuisine. Their samsa is on par with what I would've had back home. Highly recommend getting plov too.

Great food places no matter what size and area they located wow and surprise you in all lovely ways and Farida is definitely cuts in that category. I don't eat beef so couldn't try lot of the dishes but stuff was worth everything. Once we got the food it was tasty and I definitely enjoyed the experience, besides the wait time

I chose this place to celebrate my birthday but occasionally it coincided with the birthday of Farida itself. Unfortunately, they put their own party first in priority and forgot about the clients. I am 9 months pregnant and we had a kid with us that evening, but were not even offered a water after 20 min. All servers were gathered itside while we were waiting for our order to be taken. Our table outside was shaking, but no more other free tables to change. What about the food, mashed potato seamed to be made from powder and my husband didn’t like his kvas at all. Shashlyk was good, manti too salty. The same song played at least 4 times in a row. Overall, it could be a pleasant experience, but the stars formed differently that evening.

Great food. Excellent vibes. Dope atmosphere. The owner is very passionate about the industry and the culture. Made me happy to see such care from the service to the food. And the food is GLORIOUS. Swordfish, salmon, steak and lamb kebabs the way to go. They pile on veggies with the platters.

The best food , I’ve ever taste in my life. Good environment, food is delicious and the kebabs ( shashlyks )very good too. The salads are very fresh. From appetizers to dessert , everything is great. Totally recommend. Our waitress Abby was very helpful with her recommendations and very attentive. Also they have a patio, that you can sit very comfortable.

This place was fantastic. We had the ramadan special, and the owner was very involved. He found us a place to sit near the prayer area so we could pray maghrib after breaking our fast. The plov was DELICIOUS and fresh. We also ordered manti which we were not a huge fan of (dry), but the Ramadan special made up for it as well as the service from everyone and accommodations for people fasting (dates, yogurt drink, juice, water). Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back again to try out more of their delicious Uzbekistan cuisine. (9/10)
