This place is awesome, the water is clean, there are some spots to jump off of and into the water. One of the best things is how limited the amount of people allowed are, but best of all is the clean, aqua colored fresh water on a hot Arizona summer day. Also, the fish are friendly, they just swim around your toes like they're just another rock when you stick your feet in the water. Small drawbacks: 1. the dirt road to get to any of these parking lots is wildly bumpy, windy and harsh so if you don't have a all wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle at least try to pick a vehicle with a high clearance for large bumps and rocks or you will be in for a very slow and rock/bump/lump/what is that?/ don't fall off the cliff drive. 2. You cannot move your car from whichever parking lot you have chosen, so if you want to go to any of the other swimming holes or falls, you will have to hike as far as six or seven miles. This wasn't a drawback for us but if you are elderly or not in shape, you may want to bring lots and lots of water and snacks because it could be a long while to get to any of the other destinations.

Definitely worth the dusty washboarded drive over. It's about 30 miles from 260. Heavily traveled by SxS, Motorcycles and other passenger vehicles. You don't need 4 wheel drive to make it over to the bridge I would just avoid going during the rainy season. There are stone steps to get you from the bridge down to the water. The water was clear and the scenery gorgeous. There is a vault toilet by the bridge parking area. There's also tons of hiking/MTB trails in the area. Check out Child's Power Plant on the river, it's about 6 miles from the bridge.

One of my favorite swimming spots in Arizona's outback. Now, due to loads of visitors, the area is managed with reservations only. Hike down stream a mile or two for the real deal....no people, wonderful water, and wilderness like you've rarely seen.
