California Historical Landmark No. 972, erected in 1987, inscription: Designed as the largest enclosed structure without columns in the world by noted California architects Robert Clements & Associates, this Art Deco building, constructed between 1938 and 1941 by the WPA, is the largest and second-oldest Navy Reserve Center in the United States. It has served as the induction, separation, and training center for more than 100,000 sailors since World War II, as well as the filming site for countless motion pictures and television shows. Note: The Reserve Center is now the Los Angeles Fire Department Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center. The parking lot is usually open weekdays 7-4. There is a 9/11 memorial near the front gate.

Great classes taken here. The history of the fire service in Los Angeles starts with City Fire. Sam Haskins, the first black firefighter in Los Angeles paved the way. He was also the first death in Los Angeles Fire history. This place is right by the best baseball team in the MLB too. Still LA COUNTY FIRE though!

Great work out with CAPS! Definitely set me in the right mindset as a candidate. I hope to have a chance to go back! P.S. Don't be like me and ignore the water requirement! Make sure you're mentally/physically prepared.
