Such an amazing time! My sister and I were a little sketched out at first just because of how remote it was, but everyone working there were so kind and we got some amazing crystals! Definitely would recommend!

Our family visited Old Cardinal a few months ago and had an amazing time. Isaiah and Morgan were wonderful hosts and very engaging. We enjoyed and appreciated the Bible quiz and their knowledge about the stones. We purchased two enriched buckets and walked away with a large variety of beautiful stones, some much bigger than we anticipated. My son found a labradorite that filled his fist. We took advantage of the jewelry and had some pieces made to commemorate our visit. Morgan was very helpful in choosing the right pieces to polish up and give us the colors we were looking for. They took the time to package up our findings and label them for us as well. Great people. It's a gem in the sea of mines.
So worth it. Not going to lie was a little terrified when we showed up. Sent my husband to check it out & I am not disappointed with our experience. Morgan was so helpful & even helped us identify our gems. My hands were so cold she offered to help me Pan my gems. We were the only ones out there because let’s face it we’re in winter but it was such an amazing experience. Would totally do this again. Going to make sure we do it in the spring or summer next time! 10/10 would recommend. MUST GO!!
I would not waste your time here there are many other gem mines in Franklin that offer better options and better service then this place. I have been gem mining for 20 years and have never been to a mine more sorry than the cardinal gem mine. If you enjoy paying 20 for a bucket of clay and pebbles then the cardinal gem mine is the place for you. If you are looking for an authentic gem mining experience go to the Rose creek mine. You can dig for native gemstones straight from their local mine without feeling rushed to leave.
We had an awesome time mining here. We decided to make the hour long drive to gem mine here and it was so worth while. We got two of the 50 enriched buckets and between the three of us who mined it took about 2 hours to leisurely look though the dirt. The 50 enriched buckets are definitely the beat option. They were so helpful in picking out rubies, sapphires, and emeralds that we would have never noticed otherwise. We got one of the gems we thought was pretty wire wrapped by Morgan and it is beautiful. The grandmother is so friendly and the gift shop is filled with interesting items. I would highly recommend going here even if it is a bit out of the way. It is well worth it.
