Alright let me give some details about this school because I go here myself. First of all let’s start about the students here. On rainy days they fill up trash cans and dump them on the floor, also you can see many people fighting for no reason. Next, the teachers here are decent, but most are retiring. This school has really gone downhill these past years and some kids are known to do drugs. I recommend for your child not to attend this school if they can’t handle some of the things that take place here.

It's a nice school overall. I graduated from Portola in 2015. I have to be honest, I'm rating 4 stars because some of the staff were mean. I don't know what is it like there now but the years I've attended, I encountered mean staff/teachers.

Great school. Nice kids. Awesome staff. Lots of opportunities. Magnet is decent, academy is decent, and other classes are decent. On the scale of 1-10, I would rate it 9. Thanks Gaspar.

This place sucks! I am currently a student at Portola because me and my parents thought it would be a good fit, but it was clearly the wrong choice. The homework is brutal, the teachers are boring, and the school is one hell of a ghetto. I hate it. Please do your children a favor by not sending them to this school. Any other school would do, just not this traumatizing mess of a “school”.

I am currently a 8th grader at Portola Middle School Highly gifted magnet. I like the fact that we go at a pace that is up to my speed unlike at non magnet schools. I don't like the staff or bathrooms at all. And I think that the algebra 1 in sixth grade shouldn't be limited to kids who got a 90 or above on a sixth grade math test in fifth grade coming from a non-magnet school.
