I could not reach anyone by phone. I went in person and was given email address for Ecuador Embassy. No response from e-mail.

This is the worst consulate office that I have encountered. The phone calls are not answered by a person but an automated voice tells you to go to their website and fill out an application to have an appointment. I filled out an application, but when I tried to send it to the email address provided in the website, it comes back as undeliverable because the address in not recognized. I sent a fax asking them to help me understand the new law signed by the Ecuadorian President requiring all the travellers to have a Travel Health Insurance. A lady (supposedly the Consulate Officer) called me and asked me to send her the information about the travel insurance that I have purchased which includes the Health and Medical coverage. I sent the Travel Insurance document by replying to her email address. It has been a week, but I have not received any response. I have sent repeated emails and fax asking them to give me a simple answer - whether the Travel Insurance that I have obtained will meet their requirement or not. THERE IS NO RESPONSE. It is very frustrating when no one responds to your inquiry and none of their phone numbers and email addresses work. Even the Embassy in Washington DC is impossible to reach. Why do they have an Embassy and a Consulate Office in US if they don't help US citizens who are interested in travelling to their country?

My experience has been awesome. I don't know what everyone is complaint about. I sent an email an had a response within 12 hours. The scheduled an appointment to see me within a few days. I drove the 5 hours from Winston Salem to Atlanta, met with folks, who were VERY friendly, and handled my business. Thanks Andres! Excellent service!!

It is impossible to talk with a person in this consulate. Both phone numbers are answered by the same recording. The English version of the recording sends you in a loop and refers you to the web page. The Spanish version does allow you to leave a message, but no one responds to messages either in English or Spanish. No one responds to email messages in either language either! Very frustrating!
