i love reading the lowest reviews 1st before i write mind. here is a 2 star review ice\. what an moron. the original 2 story, 4 room farmhouse that was built in 1795 and still stands on its original foundation. making this the oldest building in Greensboro. during 1960's and 70's the Morehead family has returned many of the original items to the house. that alone gets 10 stars from me. it also has 2 additions. the first in 1822 and the second in 1846. i really wish people knew what they are looking at before they write a stupid review. we had a young man as a tour guide and to my surprise he new the history of the farmhouse very well. we were lucky to be the only ones on the tour so he took his time and answer all our questions very well. lots of interesting facts and we spent at least two hours here. the 100 acres farmhouse was bought by Henry Humphries in 1822 for 50. humphires founded the Mt. Hecla Cotton Mill in 1818. that was converted to steam in 1826 and it was the first cotton mill powered by steam in north carolina. i hope i was helpful. this is a place i would like to turn too.

Great tour of a beautiful home. Matt was our docent and his knowledge not only of the home and it's occupants, but of the entire regions history was great.
