This is the best guitar store in Seattle! They have a great selection of inventory, with rare used guitars and cool effects pedals that I've never seen before. The staff is very friendly and helpful too -- I caught no attitude there, which is refreshing for a guitar store. I'm so glad there's finally a music store on Capitol Hill!

I've been into High Voltage exactly twice, and they have exceeded my expectations both times. Firstly, the staff is very nice and professional. Secondly, although I am a keyboard/synth player and the selection for me is very limited, I was able to pick up exactly what I needed every time. I got some used stereo cables and a double-braced keyboard stand for super cheap (neither of which are cheap to begin with) on my first trip. On my second trip, I wanted to ask if they could help me fix a Speakon cable whose connection had snapped because of my stupidity. Although they weren't completely up for the task, I brought in a spare part of my own. They soldered the pieces together, new cable was just fine, and voila. The astounding part is that whenever you have a solder job, the tech will typically have a "bench fee" which is a start-up cost, plus their time. Typically that fee is 20-25. I don't know what HV's official policy is, but their tech just waved the fee and charged me a pittance for the work. Not only did it save me a TON of hassle (ordering a new speakon cable is very expensive shipping wait), but the cost of repair was essentially negligible. They are simply top-notch with customer service and their little shop is staffed with equally top-notch employees. I will definitely be going back if I need anything again.
