Our Family had a great week at our rental. Everything was very clean and the house was exactly what our family needed. The kitchen was stocked very well with everything that we could of ever needed. The property was lovely, the home was very cozy. We will definitely be renting again.

Renter beware. Your security deposit is at risk. Reasonable, yet quirky, rental home we had this past July. However, I guess we have to pay almost 200 to have a poor quality pocket door re-hung (that never even worked while we were there) and pay for broken bracket from a cheap futon. We did not intentionally or knowingly break any of this. Seems to me like normal wear and tear. What can you do though? They have your money and won't give it back. There are so many places to stay in Door County - pick somewhere else. We will.
While we enjoyed the home we rented, I can only give 1 star to JR rentals. The hot water heater stopped working, we did not realize this until the afternoon. JR rental did attempt to call their emergency maintenance company who was too busy to come out that day. They offered to come around 9am the next day (the day we were leaving and had to be out by 10am), so we told them to just wait until we had left but that we thought it was only appropriate they give us some type of rebate for the inconvenience of not having hot water. They told us they would have to discuss with the owners and we would hear back. We received our refund for the full amount, but there was no additional to offset the fact the house was not in full working order for one of the days we were there. I called JR rentals, they almost act as if it is our fault the hot water heater went out late enough in the day and that there was not time to fix it. We completely understand ....things happen. But we paid for a fully functioning home, and if you are not able to repair it, the least you can do is try an compensate the inconvenience of cold showers and inability to clean dishes properly with a discount for that day. Reputable companies do their best to make things right. And to give me attitude on the phone is a reflection of where they put customer service on their list of priorities.
Do not stay with this company. We rented a house and called about water accesss across the road. The people across the street were not happy we used the said path and the gentlemen pulled a gun and pointed at me and my children. We called the cops and the rental company and they said they had no other available rentals and they had talked with the deputies and he had calmed down and we could go back. What a joke.....we drove 7 hrs and now have nowhere to stay. But hey he is calmed down take your children back like nothing happend. They did say they would give us a full refund......but a ruined vacation.
I have rented from JR Vacation Rentals since 2006. I will never forget how they found me a wonderful property at 5:00 on a Saturday night in August. I just arrived to find that the house I had rented for 3 years had burned to the ground and I was never notified. It it wasn't for JR, I would have been big time out out of luck since I had a dog. I never have to worry about the place I am renting or the condition of it. They are always clean and ready and if there are any issues, JR immediately takes care of them. I have never had any problems with their customer service. They are always helpful and friendly.
