This place is beautiful, lots of deer sign, but highly over pressured by to many hunters at one time. Drove an hour in a half sat a full day and never saw a single deer. Guys just walking around leaving scent everywhere. Would not recommend hunting there!

Fantastic area. Remember that this is a SFWA so it is more suited for hunters but hikers can find plenty to enjoy here when hunting is not occurring. Read and follow all posted restrictions at all times. Check regulations before hunting as I believe there are additional permits required depending on your recreation of choice (I could be wrong). Drive carefully on the gravel road and turn left at the sign for the SFWA. You can park before the bridge and then walk straight in. No toilets or utilities are available but the forest preserve parking lot does have some. Follow the access road until you reach the clearing. Bring the bug spray if you are headed for the woods. Please do not litter. Follow all restrictions and read the posted notices at all times.
