I have had a lot of bad, expensive tailors and Marin's is NOT one of them. They have altered suits, a number of bridesmaids dresses, jeans, cycling shorts, etc. They always make sure that everything fits perfectly. Their prices are great for the work and the work is done very well. Also, if you need things in a pinch, they would be happy to accommodate you.

One of the gems of New York City. Andy and his team are brilliant, and will make you a suit (suits) that are half the price of off the rack Brioni's or Armani's and will fit better. They will help you pick the perfect bolt of fabric. Make sure you see the factory, which is right behind the showroom! And you get to see pictures of celebrities (including Miss Piggy!) that they've designed for.
Actually, this is a zero star rating. A dear friend of mine had a nightmare experience w/them that is still not resolved over 6 months later. They simply do not stand behind their work & do not correct subpar work. They literally provided a pair of custom slacks but they forgot to account for his hips (Tailoring 101) so they did not fit him. They collected his payment & are still holding the slacks too. In my opinion, these guys are inferior tailors & potentially scammers. I don't know of any alleged bespoke tailor who will not stand behind his work to ensure 100% client satisfaction. Consequently, I recommend that you AVOID @ALL COSTS!!
Ive been going to st lauries since 2011 when I had a custom tux made and love the service. Andy, the owner, will guide you through the process with his knowledge of fabrics, what works will with a given body type and provide that honest feedback that we sometimes need (Its not about the sale but the service). The head cutter, Umberto is an old school italian trained in the naploitano style with a sharp eye for getting curves accurate. Andys sons are also involved in the process bringing a little modern touch to timeless pieces. The experiance itself is one catered for men, there is no rushing to make decisions, no trying to get you to purchase expensive fabric, there is a patience with customers that is rarely seen today. He wont push a particular fabric or mill on you (like some bloggers out there), just good old experiance from a well dressed veteran. To sum up in a simple phrase, clothes from st lauries are like tatoos, you cant just have one.
