Dr. Schipper performed a total ankle replacement along with several other supporting procedures (i.e., bone fusion in foot) on 8/21/20. I am in week three of recovery and all is going well. I am posting this review as I have been so impressed with the level of support I have been provided by Dr. Schipper and his team. Dr. Schipper is a very talented surgeon supported by an exemplary team which is so important to the the patient's overall experience and well being. Melania and Tanya, in particular, have been so helpful. Tanya provided excellent support during the pre-op process and Melania continues to provide amazing support in responding to the many questions I have had post surgery. Thank you Dr. Schipper and team for helping me get through this challenging time. I look forward to a full recovering and the ability to resume an active lifestyle.

Dr Schipper met my high standards for physicians . His examination , evaluation and diagnosis were all logical and on point . He provided a referral for rheumatology because he correctly determined that I had an inflammatory soft tissue problem and his orientation is surgical . I would definitely refer other patients to him . The ancillary staff were friendly and efficient .

I came to Dr. Schipper after the Ortho referred to me by Sentara ER deserted me the day before my scheduled surgery. Left with a ankle broken in 4 places, dislocated joints and blood clots, I had no clue how things would end for me. Because I had not heard back from the previous Ortho I solicited help finding a replacement from my husband and our neighbors. My husband was very impressed with Dr. Schipper's online reviews. A number of my neighbors and even my Teledoc suggested Anderson's Ortho Clinic as the best Ortho in the area so I was sold. From my first interaction with the Lorton nursing staff I could tell I had found the right place. Dr. Schipper took the time to explain to me what happened to my ankle and what he could do to fix it in the most safest way possible. He was very kind, patient and down to earth. I was already extremely nervous about the procedure due to the blood clots but I was reassured after our first meeting that I was in good hands. I will be referring everyone that I know to him. I am so blessed to have found Dr. Schipper in my time of need.
