We had a fantastic experience rescuing our senior dog through Lucky Dog. My partner and I wanted to adopt an older, not very vocal, lower energy dog as we live in an apartment and do not have a fenced in yard. We had applied to multiple other rescue organizations and never heard a word back from them. With Lucky Dog, however, we applied for our sweet girl Maggie and heard back within a day of applying. Gaby was wonderful to work with and spent a long time on the initial phone call with me providing what information she knew about Maggie's past, her current health problems, and what kind of care she would require to stay healthy. Additionally, she answered every question I had about Maggie throughout the adoption process & after (and I asked a lot of questions!). She was extremely transparent about Maggie's health & behaviors. Additionally, we were able to meet Maggie before agreeing to adopt, and then after deciding to adopt, picked her up at a later date. We appreciated this as it gave us time to talk it over and make sure we were making the best decisions for us and for Maggie. Less than two weeks after applying we were able to bring home our dog. We have had Maggie for a little over a month now. Welcoming Maggie into our home has been a fantastic process, in large part due to the guidance and help from Gaby, who continues to answer my questions even after the adoption has been finalized. Maggie has been a perfect match for our family and though she is a lucky dog for finding her forever family, we feel very lucky to have found her.
