They either have bad mechanics or lazy mechanics because the work I have had them do ended up having to be redone by another shop. Either they don't actually do the stuff they charge you for and lie about it, or they are simply incompetent. I have had them do three small things for me and all three things (alignment, New tire install, fixing a leaking tire) had to be fixed elsewhere. They were very defensive about it and charged me multiple times and wasted multiple hours of my time to attempt fixing two tires that leaked which both still leaked after their second attempt. The four wheel alignment had to be done at another garage because after they finished with it the vehicle pulled the right right so bad you had to turn the wheel to the left as if you were making a turn just to go straight.

Nice, knowledgeable people. Absurd prices. My mechanic retired. I got 2 quotes there and that's enough to keep looking for new mechanic. You're going to pay 2 to 3 times more for simple things. I politely told them if these are their prices then they don't need my business and they politely agreed.

I've always had a great experience taking my car to McElhinney's. Each time they were completely honest with what needed fixed and never tried to up sell me on anything. Between the people that answer the phone, the owner and technicians, each person is extremely nice and friendly, always looking to offer their advice and assistance. If you're looking for a honest, reliable shop, I would recommend McElhinney's. Honestly I can't say enough about how much I appreciate the way they run their business!
