This company is spiraling towards its demise. The management accepts mediocre talent with limited accountability on all fronts of the business. The stagnant and cheap ownership could care less and operations personnel don't know what they're doing half the time. Anyone seeking employment should seriously consider other avenues.

Unfortunately, you get what you get in a crisis. I just had a bad experience on the patient end. I'm sure this is not typical! The dispatch got messed up, which resulted in us waiting over an hour from time of dispatch for a nonemergency inter facility transport. I could have driven myself... The crew that showed up left paperwork behind and couldn't figure out the radio for the med patch. The driver was trying to take \short cuts\ and said he could \make up speed\. I was riding in the front with my 5 day old baby in the back. That's not a comment I wanted to hear! Billing never billed insurance even after I mailed in my insurance information. I finally just submitted the claim myself after paying Hunter. So, I feel it was less than ideal all the way. But again if you call 911 or are in the ER and need to be transferred, options can be limited. I will avoid using Hunters again if I have alternative options. Update - My insurance plan actually paid this bill a week later, but Hunters Ambulance never reimbursed me until I called 5 months later (it took me that long to notice it as I wasn't paying attention to my insurance benefits statements for a while!). While I sympathize that they want to get paid quickly and may bill to the patient when insurance takes a long time, they should be careful to \double-up\ on the account! Not a fan of this ambulance company, especially the billing side.

A good place to start a career in emergency medical services. Busy enough to get plenty of hands on experience with a variety of call types including emergency and pre-scheduled transports. 911 response area includes parts of three different CT counties and mutual aid offers responses to both populated and rural communities. Equipment, vehicle's, facilities, and issued attire are of high quality and very well maintained. Advancement within the company is available, but limited due to company size. An employee can move within the anks\ (CDL bus driver, chair car, EMT, Paramedic, etc) with relative ease, but movement to supervision, lower level management, and upper management is much less frequently available. Again due to company size. Co-workers can't be beat. Quality of services provided to customers and communities are top notch. There are a large number of employees with well over a decade of service within all divisions of the company. Those who \move on\, have gone further in emergency services as police and firefighters, as well as moving on in healthcare as nurses, physician assistants, M.D., and more. As stated. A good place to start a career, but I wouldn't recommend ending it here. A decent flexible part time job.

Honestly, if I could give Hunters no stars, I would. The dispatchers and EMTs frequently fraternize during shifts and after shifts in the parking lot and in the ambulances. One of the managers gives favoritism because she always wants the best for her spouse that works in dispatch. They don't work as a team and often people target others so that their favorites can succeed, even when favoritism shouldn't be seen in the work place. Many times the employees advertise themselves as Hunters employees on social media and then target people and cyber bully many because they're a \family\. This place is unprofessional and I wouldn't want them taking care of me or any of my family members in an emergency.
