Made the long trip to the middle of nowhere to see this defunct military base shaped like a pyramid. Although I was not able to get into the base because the entrance was blocked, I was able to take great pictures from near the fence. I think there's something simplistic yet elegant about the design, and the remote location and lack of traffic made it a serene, peaceful experience. Was definitely worth the trip for the cool pictures.

Pretty damn cool! Wish they would turn it into a museum cause I’d really like to walk through there. One could hop the fence but there’s a few cameras around so that’s outta the question. Definitely some advanced technology they had back in the day. Though the 8 billion it cost to build it over a five year period to only have it open for a year or so in 1975 is ridiculous. Should’ve been open for a few decades, even if they didn’t need it for nuclear weapons. Crazy & cool how they when from a entire military base to operate things of that nature to just having & briefcase handcuffed to some dude that follows the president around. Push of a button. #BetterDeadThanRed
Thanks for showing me how to get to my destination.
