Awesome place for Italian food. This is for people who want Italian at home but don’t wanna prep everything from scratch. It is true that Italian pasta taste better when prepped fresh. CHOICES: Fresh pasta, pasta sauce, lasagne, dessert (like homemade Tiramisu and Cannoli). Italian main course. Italian wine. BONUS: They even have fresh Squid Ink pasta! Also have catering options, so good for office and parties. I especially love their lasagne. RECOMMENDATION: buy the full frozen box of lasagne, better pricing than buying just one slice.

Love this place! Panino's for a light lunch. Lasagna, tri tip a variety of salads that help with a quick healthy dinner. All this for very reasonable prices.

Fantastic quality pastas with delicious sauces. After boiling the water it'll just take a couple minutes to cook and you don't need to add anything to have a great meal. Mushroom sauce is fantastic. Somewhat spicy vodka sauce is great with pappardelle. Top it off with some prosciutto and you've just made a restaurant quality meal.

I found this place when I was walking around the area. It was really cool to see the two chefs in their chefs uniforms working in an open kitchen right in the store. The pasta just looked so fresh I had to try it. It's take and bake at home so I picked up some lasagna and cannoli. The lasagana and cannoli were really great, I'll be stopping here everytime I'm in the area from now on!

For locals, this place is an institution. The daily fresh food, small town feel, and take home nature of it all make this a San Mateo favorite. I often find myself grabbing the classic ravioli/sauce/wine combination on the way home from work. Having tried all their sauces, I can easily say it's the best you can buy (my favorites being Puttanesca and Vodka). This is coming from someone whose mother is an Italian personal chef. What you buy in a grocery store can't compare to what's made fresh at Pasta Pasta. The fellows operating the store are friendly and helpful. Old school Italian personalities giving great (and sometimes entertainingly honest) recommendations. Go with their suggestions. While the prices are a bit higher than average, this is something you'll overlook after you've taken your first bite. I'd love to see them branch out even more---events, cooking classes, wine tastings, something! I always snag a bread stick by the register on my way out.

The food is delicious, and I have ordered from them three times for dinner parties. Each time, they sent me home with the right amount to serve everyone, and my guests were all thrilled with how good it was. Reasonable prices, and great for picking up family dinner on a weeknight too. Just try it!

Pricey for uncooked pasta and refrigerated sauces.

Freshly made pasta and pre-made meals ready to cook. Wonderfully prepared and they offer a nice range of choices. Also have olive oil and other key ingredients for a proper Italian meal. Knowledgeable staff.
