My first visit. At 74...not my fist rodeo. The technician and staff were patient and helpful. Dr Kariya was very personal and thoroughly reviewed with me my files from previous doctors. Very impressed. He even called me after my CT scan to talk with me about the results.
I was misdiagnosed with COPD in July 2020. I went back for another test and was told that I did not have it and the Dr.Kariya refused to apologize. The entire staff with the exception of Solomon are very unprofessional. The initial diagnosis caused me and my family a lot of grief. I could not believe that they were mad at me for their mistake...Unbelievable! I really don't know about doctors today, they just don't seem to care anymore, very disappointing
I find all the doctors and the NP (she is great!) to be thoughtful and very knowledgeable. They are straight forward and spend the time to explain their approach and plan for recovery. My asthma is much better controlled as a result. They have a lot of rules about missing appointments but every doctor I see now has the same approach. They always accommodate me with a sick appointment.
When my previous pulmonologist was unable to determine the cause of my increasing number and length of bronchitis attacks, I asked a good friend and knowledgeable doctor, whom I should see. He stated that the best pulmonologist in town was at Pulmonologists PC, and I should see Dr. Irving Mizus. Dr. Mizus saw me, diagnosed the problem (common variable immune deficiency syndrome: CVIDS), and got the matter under control. From time to time, when I needed a doctor on call there, I found each one to be very competent and always followed up on the matter. When Dr. Mizus retired, I selected one of his partners, Dr. Stephen Kariya, whom I found to be equally competent, responsive and caring. In one instance, he returned my call from Antigua at 10 pm. As for the office staff, it is thoroughly competent. If you want competence, thoroughness and care - run, do not walk, to Pulmonologists, PC. If you want a friend, - to quote Harry Truman, get a dog.
Wish I could put 0 stars. This office has nothing to offer anyone. They don't care about their patients. Didn't even get to the first appointment because I was sick. Tried to cancel but couldn't I was ill. So they charged me 75.00 for missed appt. Really don't want any doctor taking care of me from this office especially if all they see is dollar signs
Worst place ever! Never go here, first of all made the appointment for April 26th, two days before the appt front desk lady called me to change it because the dr was not going to be there, she changed it to may the 5th at 3:15. When I got there for my appt at 3, they said that my appt was may the 1st not the 5th, very rude, telling me that I have to pay a no show fee of 75 dollars, I am surprised because I had it in my calendar and I was there, why I was going to be there if I didn't have an appt? Hello!! While I was there the front desk lady changed 3 appointments in less than 15 minutes, they are a big mess, the office had a weird smell, I suffer from asthma and I'm pregnant, they didn't want to see me or rescheduled my appt until I pay the 75 dollars... 75 dollars for a no show fee??? Where do they charge that? staff is very rude. Don't loose your time here find another Dr that can treat people with respect.
