It was one of fashion shoot locations that I was a CCO (COVID-19 Compliance Officer). By looking at the complex machinery lines of work mesmerized and felt how small humans are. It is good to be alive and enjoy doing what I am doing by ensuring production crews’ health and safety issues during the Era of COVID. Don’t give up my dreams to be a FILMmaker. No reason to give in. Windy, cold, and super fun. A little odd to drive into a port area early in the morning, right near giant shipping freighters, but once you get into the Catalina Express building, it's a great experience. Don't splurge for the inside seats - rough it with the regular folks who brave the mist and cold. Once you get to the island, you can spend the money you saved on a great meal.
Fairly easy and simple process. The biggest concern is finding the correct facility, between Long Beach (near the Aquarium) or San Pedro (10 minutes to the west). Also make sure hats or lose clothing is firmly secured of you go outside, on the deck of the ship.
Have had good experiences departing and arriving from all three ports on the mainland, and both ports on the island. Our latest trip has been cancelled due to the covid shutdown, but we will be back. Keep in mind the ride to/from San Pedro can take an extra 45 minutes depending on whether you're going to Two Harbors or Avalon, and which one the boat goes to first (it changes). Can't wait until service to Two Harbors is restored!
Very good experience. 75 round trip. The duration is about 1h and 20 min. You have to wear the mask at all the times. Total 3 floors, plenty of seats. There are 2 bars, the serve cold/ hot and alcoholic beverages. Prices very reasonable! Highly recommended!
