My two kids (now college age) each sang in Pacifica choirs for ten years, starting with the little kids' choir, moving through intermediate choirs and eventually singing in the chamber choir. (For several years, I also got to sing as a volunteer baritone,) Neither kid is currently singing, but that's not really the point. The music was challenging at each level, but just enough that they could master it by the concert day. Gradually they became confident stepping up to perform gracefully before audiences, but perhaps that's not the point either. Every week throughout their childhood and youth, they got to experience the pure joy of making music with their peers, sometimes strikingly beautiful music. Can you ask any more for your own child?

Pacifica is an excellent choir that nurtures a love of music in K-12 children and those around them!!! There are 3 choirs for different ages/levels, with weekly rehearsals Wednesday throughout the school year, and 3 Saturday concerts over the course of the season. Location is Maple Leaf Lutheran Church (10005 32nd Ave NE). The choirs are taught by Susan Senft and Mary K McNeill, two FABULOUS teachers with many years of experience. Our daughter Linnea loves this choir, as did two of her cousins who went through the program. Come check out a practice or concert for free! Program philosophy: \We believe that singing is a powerfully personal means of musical expression and we hope this experience will form the foundation of a lifelong relationship with music for the singers and their families.
