The purchasing experience was good. Asher has a wide variety of high quality rugs. He also delivered the rug pads to my home. When I contacted him again this year, interested in purchasing new rugs, he was easy to communicate with over the phone. The rugs I had purchased 2.5 years ago were not working for our home anymore (they are a wool, flat weave, and now that we have small children we need something more cushioned and soft for our living areas). He explained to me that he could not exchange them anymore, but would do a business "trade" as long as they are in good condition. After deducting for cleaning costs, and his business administration costs (he cited re-stocking the rugs, his fees for renting out his flea market stall and commuting, etc), he would credit us 900 at his rug store for the two rugs valued at 1600 each when I purchased them. I was still up for it, until he told me at the end that we would also have to purchase 4000 worth of rugs from him (from which he would deduct our 900 credit for the two large area rugs we traded in). He continued to bemoan the point that he was "getting nothing" out of this transaction. When I purchased the rugs I distinctly remember him praising their lifelong value as "heirloom quality." And yet, today on the phone he essentially told me his product is worthless to him, even though by trading with us he would not be paying to import them from abroad and clean them. Basically, buying here is fine, as long as you are 100% sure about the rug(s). Any other transactions with the business are not recommended.
