In the past 18 months, I have been the recipient of two cochlear implants. Since then, I have been a patient at the SW Florida Center for Hearing and Balance. I must say that Dr. Lynda Mercer has helped me get back into the world of hearing, as I have had several meetings with her to make adjustments to my implants. She is very knowledgeable in the field of balance and hearing, as well as very well versed in all hearing devices. Several years ago, knowing my hearing was a problem, I went to a hearing aid vendor in the Ft Myers area. I now refer to this person as a snake oil salesman. This was the worst experience in my life and turned me off to this industry. Later, I made an appointment with Dr Karen Major and had an opposite and excellent experience. After 6 years with the same hearing aids it’s time for an upgrade and I again saw Dr. Major at SW Florida Center for Hearing and Balance. If you are anxious about the need for hearing aids, don’t be, this practice is very caring and professional. Jack Jakubowski
