Seems like a good enough place for what it is. You can buy combo hunting licenses, it has a area to grab a bite to eat which is always busy and sells equip. Etc and an area inside with extensive event and ad postings for the area. Great place to get all your local hunting, fishing and sporting info from.

Apparently this range is only open for the range personnel and their friends during the week and closed to soldiers unless it's the weekend. Fort hood and their sportsman center has been ran nothing more than immoral and unethically. I would never recommend anyone to hunt or use their facilities. Hunting is a joke with the rules that are enforced only on people that are not inside the sportsman center people. They will keep all their stands in the rifle areas to themselves and you will have no choice but to go where they tell you. Areas are closed but they will have access to the areas that are open before anyone else.
Why on earth would Fort Hood waist its time having a Gun Range on post that is only open when the Soldiers its there to support are at work. I can't even give it a real review because I can't get off work to go there.
Nice range to benchers shoot, the range is closing down as of 1 Dec 2016 for good. Budget costs.
Very safety conscience. 5 bucks rents a gun for the day. Buy shells at walmart. Targets are very inexpensive at this range. Membership is also optional.but verg reasonable. Great group of guys there. Do yoursef a favor go in mornin. Opens at 0900
