Great school to learn Audio Engineering! Plus I work there in the Academic department

I am a 2005 graduate of the Master Recording Program II class. What I tell new and aspiring sound engineers about going to CRAS or another audio school is this: Becoming a good or great sound engineer is like climbing to the top of a mountain. It’s hard work, determination, constant learning, skill building and teamwork that will be required to get you to the top one day. But before climbing that mountain you need climbing boots, supplies and climbing gear to be well prepared for the journey. That’s what The Conservatory does they prepare you to make the ascent. So what if you don’t go? Well...it’s like starting your climb with the shirt on your back and barefoot...Is it possible to make it? Sure but not probable. Do yourself a favor get what you need to start from CRAS. I am now a Technology Director at a large church in my community and part of my full time employment encompasses sound for film, podcast mixing, live sound, live internet broadcast, live recording, studio recording, sound system install and tuning/troubleshooting, mixing, mastering and I even had setup and tune my own listening position for critical work. It would have taken me another decade to get where I am now if it hadn’t been for the start I got from The Conservatory.
