I've been a member of Theater Extras for a long time. I have seen so many wonderful shows with friends and with my family through this organization. Sometime small, obscure things like intimate circuses and mind readers, and sometimes big Broadway hits and even top-name concerts. Membership may seem expensive (I'm not sure what it is... 100/ 124) But it is an a amazing value when you consider the cost of Broadway tickets. I also like you can get tickets relatively last-minute. If you have free time, you check their listings and can often find something you want to see for just a 4 service charge. (I just checked the offerings today -- they included an opera, dance troupe, 4 Major League baseball games, one Broadway musical, and a famous rock star in concert (a bit past her prime, but if you were a fan you would jump at the tickets). This may sound like they asked me to write this, but they did not. I am almost hesitant to go on about it, since I'd rather not have more competition for the tickets. (they only get a limited amount) But they're good people and help the theater (I am a writer) so they deserve it.
